Originally formed in 1999. Since this time they have become arguably the greatest senior mens inline hockey team in the UK.

In BIPHA they have been national champions twice in 2004 and 2007 and have always finished in the top four. They won the under 21 Nationals in 2007. The Hornets have represented the UK in Europe(Firs) on several occasions coming a credible 5th twice.

In 2010 they won the first Northern Cup and was runner up in the first Premier league

In BISHA the Hallamshire Hornets became the iiSHF European Champions, the holy grail of ball hockey. In the Europeans they have been 1st ,3rd and 4th confirming their status as one of the top ball teams.

In 2011 the Hornets finished 2nd place in a nail biting final

On their road to the Europeans they were BISHA national champions two years in succession , BISHA North Champions for seven successive years and BISHA premier league champions twice.

They have also been runners up on three other occasions and won the only Champion of Champions tournament (BIPHA, BISHA & GBHI)

Players have represented GB in BIPHA BISHA and IISF over the years.

The players are a ‘family’ of hornets and have a great team camaraderie. The players have always been encouraging and supportive of junior players.
